It's also just fun. Couple-y fun. Buck and I went on dates all the time but...not really good ones. This'll be different.

[Steve kisses Loki's cheek tenderly.]

Might actually like me. Very different.

[ a slow smile appears, faint but pleased. ]

I should hope so.

[He grins.]

[He proves it by kissing it nice and firm.]

[ loki hums into the kiss. ]

Yeah. Yeah, it always makes me feel like I won something.

[ loki runs his fingers down steve's cheek. ]

I do have the power to give anyone what they want. All they need to do is name it.

[He takes Loki's hand and kisses his palm before just holding it.]

[ his ears flush slightly. ]

You're better at this than I thought.

[That gets a smile out of Steve.]

Yeah. Me either, I guess. But I'm not saying anything that isn't true.

[ loki hums, brushing his fingers against steve's cheeks. ]

What do you think I would see, looking into your eyes, Steve Rogers?

A good man.

[Steve turns his face into the touch, starved for affection like this.]

A kind man. One who's honest and maybe a little overly blunt, but... One who has a good heart inside.

[ loki smiles, his eyes bright. he continues to run his fingers down steve's cheeks, soothing. ]

No one has ever said such things about me. I couldn't even dream about it.

[Steve's eyes shut, just enjoying someone so close and so gentle. It does more for him than the making out from before to cement the idea that they were now in a relationship. A real one.]

I'll make it a habit, then.

[ loki kisses the corner of steve's lips with a smile. ]

[Steve turns and steals a small kiss.]

You got it, sweetheart.

[He flinches a little, not sure how the petname would land.]

Er. Or, Lok. Whatever you prefer...

[ loki raises his eyebrows. ]

"Sweetheart"?

[Shit.]

It...where I was from, we had...you know. Names you'd call people you were with. Sweetheart, baby, honey, sugar... I mean. Most of them were for girls but...

[He shrugs.]

I can stick with your name only.

Mmm. I think I merit something nicer than a sweetened heart.

[ are mortal pet names so banal? loki's expression twists before it settles on something more contemplative. he strokes steve's neck with a hum, tilting his head up at him, dark hair falling over his shoulders. ]

[The air is pulled from his lungs. How does Loki manage that with three words?

He answers with a deep kiss, one hand stroking against Loki's cheek, tracing his cheekbone. He barely pulls back, blue eyes darkened but warm with affection.]
