[Steve is trying really, very hard not to look as excited as he is. But it's not every day that one gets to attempt magic art. Sure, he might not ever be able to do it, but even trying is a pretty amazing first step.

What can he say? He's an art nerd and it's been decades since he's been able to indulge in it. If this kidnapping is good for anything it'll be for letting him have his hobby back.

So Steve is all smiles as he docks and makes his way to Loki's. Geez. Who would have ever seen this day coming?]

Hey, Loki. It's me. Steve. [Clearly]

[ loki opens the door, a dry expression on his face. ]

Obviously. Who else would visit me?

Thor.

[Too eager to really press it, Steve just pushes past Loki to head inside.]

[dothelokimotion]

[ a light snort. ]

I think you're vastly overestimating how much time my brother spends with me.

Do I? [That's almost a sad thought.]

I can't be the only one who visits...

[ loki merely huffs. he's not pursuing that train of thought. ]

I prefer my privacy and I am not an "outgoing" person by nature.

No, you don't. You just assume no one wants to be around you and make it seem like it doesn't bother you.

[Never forget, Loki reached out to him when he arrived. He may be introverted but Steve will bet he still likes people around.]

[ loki flinches, caught off guard. ]

I do not think that is an unfair assumption to make.

[ loki bares his teeth. ]

It is more than a simple assumption.

Hey. [Palms up. Stand down, Loki. No harm meant.]

Hey. I'm here. So you know there's at least one person who wants to be around you.

[ true. though loki still doesn't understand why. ]

Yes. Shall we . . . get started?

[brooklyn_boy]

Yeah. Let's do it.

[He grins wide.]

Do you need to magic supplies?

[dothelokimotion]

[ loki looks at him quizzically. ]

What are magic supplies?

[brooklyn_boy]

Magic! You know... [Steve moves his hand in vague gestures.]

Make them appear?

[dothelokimotion]

[ dry as bone. ]

I understand those two words in conjecture to each other, I'm just curious as to what kind of supplies you think I need.

[brooklyn_boy]

Aren't you going to teach me? Don't we need...I don't know. Something?

[dothelokimotion]

[ loki sighs. mortals. so primitive. he stands besides steve, shoulder to shoulder. then he raises his hand, his finger pointed at the air. and . . . he draws. for a moment, there's nothing but air. but colour slowly appears, filling the spaces, blooming. ]

[Steve stands, staring at the color blossoming in front of him. It's like the art is being born right out of thin air. His hand reaches out, wanting to touch, but he pulls it back.]

Amazing...

Magic does not need supplies or tricks. Magic taps into the soul.

[He already knows where this is going to go but regardless, Steve reaches out and points his finger where the color is.

Clearly, nothing happens.]

My soul must not be as colorful.

[dothelokimotion]

[ he clicks his tongue, vaguely bemused before moving behind steve. his fingers travel up his hand. it feels cool to the touch. loki never feels warm after all. ]

[It's been awhile since someone was close to him, like this. Steve tenses for a moment but then relaxes once more. It takes a second for him to concentrate and try to feel what this magic is, coming from Loki.

Finally, there is a splash of blue and green. Steve lets out a small whoop of excitement, turning his head around to look at Loki.]

Was that you? Or me?

[dothelokimotion]

[ loki's voice drifts over, cool breath brushing against steve's ear. ]

It's you, of course. I'm only helping you tap into it.

[The coolness makes him almost shiver. Steve stays looking at Loki for moment, awed, and then goes back to the art.

He doesn't know quite what he's doing but more blue appears. A brush of silver and red.]

How...do you control it?
