Steve winces a little at the alcohol since, even with the serum, he's not immune to pain. Still, he bears it with silent stoicism. His eyes track Bucky as he moves anywhere in the room, almost as though he expects the other man to run away. And he must since, the minute Bucky leans back, Steve is going to reach out and grab onto the other's wrist to hold him still at the closer distance.

"And I'm sorry. Real, real sorry, Bucky."

He lets him go and hangs his head forward. Adrenaline gone, he was getting tired. His eyes close for a short second and open once more.

"Thanks for taking care of me even though I stood you up..."
