Just as well. I'm terribly unsuited for parenthood. Better to be the fun-loving uncle.

Yeah. Leave all the hard parenting to me while you just get to go have fun...

[Okay. This is getting a little weird thinking about an alien pseudo child. Steve shrugs to let it go.]

Maybe one day Thor will have kids and you can do that...

[ he laughs softly at that, silver bells in the light. ]

I think Thor would know better than to leave any child in my care.

[Steve laughs himself, easy and light.]

I dunno, Lok. You'd be a kid's favorite relative, easy.

It is possible. I do know how to have fun.

[He holds Loki's eyes, feeling warm and easy here. And also curious.]

How did I get to be one of those people?

[ loki starts a little at that. ]

Why would you want to be?

I like you.

[The answer comes easy and honest.]

I like spending time with you. And I like when you enjoy spending time with me, too.

Why wouldn't I want to be?

[ loki averts his eyes. ]

Even so, that . . . may not be good for you. I'm not the right choice.

[Steve shifts to try and keep their eyes in contact, even going so far as to duck his head if he needs to.]

Says who?

Your friends would. Anyone who has met me.

Do you trust me?

Then trust me when I say you're good person. That people want to be around you.

[He cradles his cheek, wanting to make sure he doesn't look away.]

That I wanna be around you. And you deserve to have people who care about you.

[ loki doesn't know what to say about that, so he merely tilts his head to kiss at steve's palm. ]

[Steve receives the kiss and...God, Loki has no idea how incredible he can be. It's heartbreaking to see how this little bit of kindness effects him. He deserves more, Steve thinks. He deserves someone who cares about him. Someone to show him he's worth it. Someone who... Who...

Steve doesn't actually recall making the choice. Just having thoughts and then suddenly leaning forward. Turning Loki's face so he can gently press his lips to the other's, kissing him firmly.]

[dothelokimotion]

[ he wasn't expecting that but his eyelashes flutter as he deepens the kiss, twining his arms around steve's neck. ]

[Steve reacts instantly, arms going around Loki's waist as he pulls him closer. And for a moment it's all just blissfully easy.

Until Steve's brain kicks in and he pulls back enough to look at Loki's face, stunned.]

Wow.

Well. That's...my first time kissing a fella.

[dothelokimotion]

[ loki smiles, bemused. ]

How does it hold up?

[He really does like that smile. Steve reaches up to run his thumb over the bottom of it, eyes glued.]

I might need more examples to get a good comparison.

Oh, I think I can accommodate that request.

[ he leans forward to kiss steve again, nipping playfully at his lower lip. ]

[God of Mischief. Yeah. Steve smiles into the kiss and marvels at how easy this seems to be.

One hand buries into the long hair Loki has and the other keeps the tight wrap around his waist. He might have less experience here but he tries to give as good as he gets in the kiss.

[ that's fine because loki has enough experience to share, by the way he licks into steve's mouth with abandon and the way he hums into the kiss, stroking the base of steve's neck. ]

[Steve is outclassed and he knows it. He lets out a soft noise as the back of his neck is touched and does his best to match what Loki's doing with his tongue. In the end he just gives up and lets the god take control.

He let's his mind go, enjoying the moment. Up until his hands start to tingle. Steve pulls back reluctantly, a soft peck given as an apology, so he can check them. His fingertips are glowing red like embers. Like how his whole body feels, right now.]

You should probably take this magic back before I hurt someone.
